The Bee- A gift from God

The bee is referenced in the Bible 66 times. It is a small, delicate creature, but wise. It creates honey that is sweet to taste and has healing powers. A lot of scholars believe the bee symbolizes Jesus Christ- his forgiveness (the sweetness of the honey) and his dying on the cross for our sins( the stinger). As young children, we were probably scared of bees. We would run and squeal and cry. It was only when our parents told us why we shouldn't be afraid and explained the role of bees that we understood its' purpose. Some of us may be allergic to bees, it's something out of our control and might wish we weren't allergic; however, we still understood the purpose when we got older. A bee's purpose is to make honey and pollinate so that we, as humans, can enjoy their hard work with pretty flowers and 32 ounce jars of honey that we can eat and use medicinially. When they sting, they die. They don't necessarily want to die, but they will when they feel threaten...
