God is in Control!

God has a way to flip things in our lives so that we can rely more on Him than any other thing in this world!

I'm so glad God is way bigger than what this world has to offer. If it wasn't for His grace, mercy, and love, I would be a lost soul!

Monday, May 8th, I had a high stess IEP meeting with parents, advocate and a facilitator that started at 7:15am and lasted until 11am. I had only drank my protein shake that morning at 7:15. I began to have a headache around 9:45 so I took medicine. After the meeting I tried to eat and rest, but the headache would not go away.  My doctor called and told me I had gestational  diabeties, so I figured I might have had low blood sugar. I eventually threw up at 130 so I packed my stuff up and went home to rest.  I called my mother to ask what to do for low blood sugar and headache and did what she suggested. At 4pm I took more medicine and my headache finally went away around 6:30. I ate dinner and went back to bed.

The next morning I messaged the Doctor at Duke since all my stuff had officially transferred and gave him the whole story. He called on Wednesday morning to tell me to get my blood pressure checked and to message him right back.  I got one of our student's nurse to check and it was 158/110. She told me to go get checked out at the hospital.  I felt fine though.  No headache, no nausea, some swelling, but other than that I felt like a normal fat pregnant lady lol! So I messaged my doctor back and he highly suggested I go get checked out at nearest hospital. I finished up some things at school, went upstairs to tell Joshua and left.

I got to Moses Cone, they assessed me and told me I had severe pre-eclampsia. By 400pm I was riding on a fancy Ambo(carelink) to transfer me to Duke. The RN on the Ambo told me my blood pressure at check- in was 180/103 which  was seizure level. At that point I knew that it was  pretty serious and was thankful for all those people at school pushing me to get checked out.

I'm not going to lie, Joshua and I were a little frantic. We left our house thinking we would be home to come back and clean it over the weekend. I had plans to pick up groceries and get gas after school, but God had different  plans. Joshua left school early with the kids and picked up Ty and the groceries.I called my mother so that she could meet Joshua at the house to keep the kids.  Thankfully everyone made it to  where they were supposed to be at the right times.  My daddy even got to see Laney play in a softball game on Thursday!

Our school family has been amazing over the last three days. End of year testing is coming up and there are some lose ends to tie up, but my EC team has everything covered. They are truly the best! The high school teachers and the children's teachers have been asking how they can help because they WANT to help.  This was another whisper from God saying: "I'm in control, do not worry! I have better plans."

My mom has worked so hard to get our house in order so that it will be manageable for the kids and Joshua, and I am super thankful she has had enough energy to help us in this way. Both my sister and sister in law have reached out to let me know they can help in any way as well.  They both have children so knowing they are willing to help has been the best way to calm my nerves and relieve some stress.

So the Doctor plan: I'm going to be set up here at Duke for the next three weeks, until Evey is  around 34 weeks. Joshua's Birthday is June 1st, and June 2nd is exactly 34 weeks. So no matter what she will be June baby!

I'm praying she will continue to grow, my BP and blood sugar stay stable and we can wait as long as possible to be induced! I'm trusting in God's plan and know that whatever happens, He will cover us in His big, wide arms!

Be like a Bee- hardworking, wise and delicate.
