Fun Friday!
Evey woke up excited!
While Evey did not have school today, the rest of us did. All charter schools in NC are their own LEA meaning that the Director/Superintendent ( a job that is underappreciated because who boosts their moral when they are at the top? ) makes all calls about inclement weather. He sent out a message Thursday night about getting released early. Although it was a short day, it was a great day of learning!
I left school right before dismissal so that I could get ahead of the traffic to get Ty from his preschool since they were closing early. He came home and ate a snack and played with Evey while we waited for Joshua and big kids to come home. The nurse was able to leave at 1pm so that she could get home as well.
Evey had a great day with the nurse. She ate well and she worked on her crawling position. She worked so hard that she took an early nap from 9:30 and slept until 11:30. I am glad she took a longer nap so that she could enjoy the snow.
While we were waiting for the snow to come down we decided to facetime Aunt Cassi. All the kids got to talk to her and Evey enjoyed putting her face to the phone. While we were talking to her, the snow started coming down quick and hard so of course all the kids wanted to go outside to play in it.
I am all about natural consequences so I let the kids go out in the snow with coats, hats and mittens. After playing in the snow for a while they realized they needed heavier coats, waterproof mittens and snow boots, so we dug everything out of the closet and they went out for round two. Going outside in the snow is a different sensation. All the sudden everything seems quieter. We could hear the snow falling and the neighborhood kids squealing from afar. It's a pretty cool experience!
I think Evey, for the most part, loved being out in the snow. She reached out a couple of times to try to catch a snowflake.
We ended the night eating chocolate chip cookies and drinking hot chocolate or chocolate milk. Ty isn't a huge fan of hot chocolate! Evey played and laughed hard with her siblings and went to sleep rather quickly.
This is what our house looked like before we went to bed. We are hoping that we get another inch or so while we sleep!
Be like a bee- hardworking, wise, and delicate!
