Merry Monday!

 What a day!

What started out as a two hour delay turned into a closing for school. We were thankful that we didn't have to use one of our 8 days to take off and we could save it for future appointments she might have. The two big kids had to go with us and I think they enjoyed it for the most part. Duke is really like another home for us.

The audiologist appointment went well! It was so much better than the one we had at Cone over the summer. There were two audiologists there to help keep Evey's attention. There were some quiet noises that she did not hear, but they said that at that point she was beginning to lose interest. They weren't overly worried about it. Overall her hearing is still fine and we will need to do another follow up in 6 months.

After that appointment we found a place to eat lunch with the kids and Evey sure enjoyed eating part of a hamburger and a chicken nugget. We couldn't eat at our go to, The Dog House, this time around but we will sure make a pit stop there the next time we are at Duke. After lunch we hurried over to Lenox Baker for her neurologist appointment.

I don't know why it always takes longer there, but it did, and keeping Evey entertained was a workout. Her appointment was right when she usually takes a nap so it was even harder to keep her from falling asleep. From the neurologist perspective, she was super impressed with how strong Evey is and how talkative she was. She didn't show some reflexes in her right toes but overall her reflexes were good. She told me that in the CMT ( Charcot Marie Tooth) world  they will be doing a trial with adults with CMT and she was hopeful that by the time Evey is an adult there will be something to help her CMT.

Her last appointment was back at Duke at 2pm and we didn't leave Lenox Baker until 2pm. Thankfully it was only a 6 minute drive so we were able to see the gastrologist as soon as we got there. It was a short 7 minute visit. They said her gtube looked good and that she didn't need a bigger size and hopefully when we see them again in a year we will be able to take it out for good!

We were able to pick Ty up a little earlier and he LOVED all of us picking him up. He was super excited. When we got home I began supper and I let Evey watch a little Ms Rachel because she was a trooper going to all her doctor appointments and traveling all day.

We ended the day with chili, a nice long bath and some cuddles. She  ate all of her chili and drank all of her milk without being fed through the bolus and fell asleep FAST!

The next appointment is on Thursday to see the eye doctor!

Be like a bee- hardworking, wise and delicate!
