It's March!

 I love March!

March has a lot of great things! From birthday celebrations to springing ahead and welcoming spring, it's also the month where we get to celebrate EVEY all month for being part of the LUCKY few. She is so lucky to have an extra chromosome that lets us take a breath to enjoy her milestones a little longer, to be amazed at the progress she has made and to revel in what God has done in her life since she was born!

We have had a busy few days! Evey got into the crawling position on her own with a little prompting from the nurse. We have been practicing it all weekend to help her get stronger in her upper body! Ty also learned how to flip food in a pan and has really enjoyed showing us every day that he can still do it.

On Friday night, we went to our school's featherhead showdown to support the teachers. Evey was amazed at all the noise and went cross eyed a few times because she did not know what to focus on- she was trying to take everything in! She loved meeting some of the other EC teachers that she has not seen since she was an itty bitty baby. Introducing her to different people really helps her gain flexibility with being in different environments! After the game we went to Yum Yums and she got to eat chocolate ice cream and loved it!

We went up to Mt Airy to visit Joshua's grandmother and she loved seeing Evey eating and drink independently. Evey got out a few laughs for MiMi  and ate a whole piece of her chocolate cake! We also found her some cute little CROCS- they remind me of the McDonald's happy meal crocs from a few months ago!

Evey's 3-21 yard sign came on Saturday so we put it together and put it out for all the golfers to see. We hope that when people walk by they will be drawn by her cuteness and celebrate all people who have down syndrome every day.

Evey's feet were super purple today so I got a picture of it against her face. It looks odd, but when I tickle her feet, she draws them back so I know that she still has feeling in them and can use them. Walking might take her a little longer due to her poor circulation but hopefully we can get that fixed soon or at least talk about it more at her next Cardio appointment.

Evey did get approved for CAP-C services so now I will wait until Authoracare calls me to set up the intake. I will be calling them next week if I do not hear back from them by the end of this week.

There are lots of activities that are happening to celebrate Down Syndrome this month and we will be participating in a few of them. One of them is 3-21 day! We will be wearing our blue and yellow that day and doing to a dance party that night. We are all super excited about it. We love our Down Syndrome Network of Greater Greensboro families! We have connected with a few of them and it will be fun to mingle and catch up on life.

Be like a bee- hardworking, wise and delicate!
