Saturdays are for socks!

 I love Saturdays for TWO reasons:

1. Evey sleeps in past 6am 
2. Joshua takes care of her most of the day to give me a break

The boys woke up at 545am but we let them go downstairs by themselves to play and watch tv in the playroom. We were able to get a few more minutes of sleep since Evey didn't wake up until 645am.

When we got downstairs, Joshua made Evey breakfast and fed her while Ty and I made banana bread. He likes to smash the bananas and mix the mixture. I am hoping he will be the chef of the family and earn a living from owning his own restaurant someday!

We had a pretty chill Saturday just playing and chilling out. Since this was our last weekend before heading back to school we wanted to keep it lowkey. Evey loves playing with socks and we actually give her an extra sock to play with when we go on long car rides because she will pass the sock from one hand to the other waving it in the air. It also acts as a teether for her teeth!      

                                                        

We did do some meal prepping after Evey took her afternoon nap and prepped Chili, honey garlic chicken and meatloaf. The kids played hotel and Evey pretended to talk on her phone. 

The kids decided to go outside at 530pm tonight so Evey and I stayed in the playroom and she watched them from the sliding doors. She started out near me but inched wormed toward the door to get a better look at what they were doing outside. We started a fire once all the kids were inside and watched a movie together. 

Evey was super talkative today and would mimic a lot of words she heard. She mimics Ty squealing a lot when he gets super excited about something. I tried to teach her how to say tickle but it comes out like she is trying to clear her throat but it is still pretty cute. 


Evey loves her daddy so much and will go to him when she is overstimulated. She will pat his chest signaling to him that everything is going to be OK. 


After giving her prune juice this morning she did better pooping today and did not strain as much as she has been. We are hoping that by decreasing her toddler formula to twice a day and upping her water and daily prune juice she will continue to have better bowel movements. She was much happier today and ate like a champ!

March wind is a jolly fellow

  He likes to joke and play. He turns umbrellas inside out And blows men's hats away. Just like the poem goes, March has brought us a whirlwind of growth! Evey started speech and physical therapy and has grown so much in the past two weeks. She has learned to say, "eat" when she wants to eat and she has learned to sign "up". We are working on 'requesting' words so that she can begin to request for items so that she is not getting frustrated.  We began our session with learning to say "wee" and modeling it for her. She does a great job when I get her attention. I learned that getting her attention by saying, "Evey, look at mommy's nose" works. It's something that I learned from my mother growing up when she worked with preschoolers. 54 days

 It's been 54 days since last updating the blog.  From April until the end of May is a busy time of year for teachers. It's also been a rollercoaster of emotions for us as we have transitioned to CAP-C and a new nursing agency at the end of April. No one truly knows the amount of time it takes and the emotions a parent feels getting the RIGHT services for a child with a disability unless they have lived it.  There are so many people that take a job just to get money. Others take a job because they are passionate about the work they do. The nurses we have met through the new agency just want a paycheck. I bought two more cameras to have in our house because I just do not trust the nurse that comes in to take care of Evey. When I have peeked in on them, the nurse is on her phone ALL the time, not interacting with Evey and does the bare minimum. It's been excruciating to watch.
