SUCCESS!

 Grumpy Happy Grumpy, Happy!

That was the pattern for today. Evey slept in until 6:15 this morning and when I went into her room she greeted me with a solid, "heeeeey". I got her up and brought her into our room to get dressed but she soon got agitated when Mr. Ty smothered her with hugs and kisses.

I brought her downstairs to eat her daily waffle and she did not want anything to do with it. She drank some of her milk but was not interested in that either. I ended up bolus ( BIG 2oz Syringe) feeding the rest  through her gtube and when she leaned forward it all came out of her mouth. I had to change her outfit.

When she saw her nurse and changed her outfit she became a happy little girl who played while mommy worked on school stuff. She worked on getting in the crawling position with the nurse and pulling up on the nurse from sitting position. She even played at her activity table on her knees. All that working made her poop TWICE today. They were still hard but the nurse reassured me that with enough prune juice and another dose of miralax she will be able to get the rest out on her own.

Besides the refusal of eating the waffle, Evey ate another whole nutrigrain bar for snack, a little pasta salad and Rao's chicken gnocchi soup for lunch and supper.  She also ate two fig newton cookies for her afternoon snack. The Rao's soup is delicious! You can find it at Fresh Market and Walmart!

Once I got done with all of my school work, I was able to come downstairs and play with her one on one while the nurse finished up charting. She loves being spun around in circles and flipped backwards on my lap. When I have her sitting on my lap facing me, a lot of times she will take my hands around her hands wanting me to clap her hands together. This signals for me to sing the Pat a Cake song. We have our own rendition of the song that was passed down from Maw Maw Goforth that goes something like: "Pat a cake pat a cake baker's man, bake me a cake as fast as you can, Roll em and a roll em and a stick em stick em stick em and  a throw em in the pan." All the while I do the hand motions, stick her belly then throw her hands in the air. She gets the BIGGEST grin on her face when we do it that way.

After the nurse left we all went to the playroom to play and the kids all played with her and we caught her doing the "I don't know" sign when Ty asked Evey, "Where'd she go?"

Laney came down and she immediately wanted Laney to hold her and cuddle her. She sure loves her big sister!

Jonah loves playing with her and when he does, he unintentionally does physical therapy exercises with her and she loves it!

She made a mess with her soup at supper so we had to change her into her PJs. She is growing at a steady rate but her little feet still fit in a size 0-6 month shoe so when she puts on her PJS her feet go missing!  Her hair has gotten super long recently so it is always in her face!

All in all it was a good day for Evey and she was so worn out from the pooping and exercising that she went straight to sleep at 6:45pm.

Here are a few more pictures in her Ms. Rachel outfit and a silhouette of her face showing her beautiful blue eyes and long eyelashes!

Be like a bee- hardworking, wise and delicate!
