The early bird gets the worm

Evey is definitely a morning person.

Evey woke up super early but clapped and played in her bed. She got quiet after 10 minutes but then sat right back up at 6:00 and just waited for someone to get her up.

She spent the morning hanging out with the boys while Laney slept in. The boys love holding her and putting her in the chair and on the futon. She thinks it's the best thing!

Once Laney woke up, she played with Laney and let Laney give her a snack while she ate her breakfast.

We played and chilled out most of the day and Evey stayed in her warm PJs. The kids ended up going outside to play in the icey snow that was left over in the shade.

I had made Laney's birthday cake and froze it on Saturday since it was going to be another busy week of basketball games and I knew I wasn't going to have time to make it and ice it on Friday. Well, when I woke up I started cleaning out the fridge and noticed that I forgot to put the sour cream in it! So I took the frozen strawberry pound cake out of the freezer and I started over. The kids tasted the cake and didn't think anything was wrong with it. It did look good BUT it was too dense and heavy.

Part of the process of making the pound cake is making a strawberry reduction. When I started blending the strawberries, Evey had no idea where the noise was coming from and started crying. She was SCARED! So, I stopped the blending and put towels around it so that it would be quieter. Then I got her attention and told her that I was going to start it again. The next time I started it, she didn't cry. I have learned my lesson and will now put a towel around the blender if she is in the kitchen with me.

Everyone got baths tonight and tonight was the first night Evey took a bath all by herself. Ty didn't want to take a bath with her so I told myself, let's just see how it goes. She LOVED having the bathtub to herself. She turned and turned to get all the light up toys. She did cry when I was washing her hair but all the kids did that when they were her age. I mean who likes getting water poured on their face over and over?

I lathered her up with lotion and blowed her hair dry and then we put her to bed. It did not take her long to fall asleep after having a fun day of playing with everyone all day.

We have a snow day tomorrow so Joshua and I will be using that day to catch up on school work. Ty will be able to go into school around 9am so we are hoping to get caught up and get ahead! Who knows when the next snow storm might happen? All we know is that we will be ready for it!

Be like a bee- hardworking, wise and delicate!
